Principal, Technical Writing & Translation
The role includes responsibility to create and update product documentation for our next generation multi-tenant cloud ERP platform. You will work with cross-functional teams to produce product feature and technical documentation for a variety of external and internal audiences.
The role maintains a close cooperation with engineering teams and product management to ensure technical accuracy and high quality product documentation. The position requires a technical writer with excellent English and Swedish verbal and written communication skills and an ability to understand ERP and technical terms and software engineering concepts.
It requires the ability to transform complicated technical information into understandable documentation for end-users, system administrators and technicians. It also includes mentoring junior technical writers and serves the role as proofreader by participating in peer reviews. This role also includes leading new initiatives and identifying areas for improvement in the technical writing area.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Write and edit documentation from a range of inputs following industry and internal standards to deliver product documentation for end-users, system administrators and technicians
- Work with product management and engineering teams to ensure all documentation is accurate, comprehensive and in conformance with the company’s documentation standards.
- Plan and deliver documentation taking into account business and technical requirements.
- Work in alignment with and contribute to improvements of the established documentation processes and standards.
- Review Swedish translations of product documentation.
- Mentor junior technical writers on documentation challenges, best practices and processes.
- Work in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Lead new initiatives and identify areas for improvements.
Secondary Responsibilities include:
- Present information on projects, initiatives, and other subjects to peers, teams, and management.
- Lead a project or project section as required. In addition, review projects against goals and provide status reports internally to the scrum team.
- Participate in interviewing and hiring practices as directed and advised by management team and train junior technical writers.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Qualifications:
- 7+ years professional experience in technical writing.
- 7+ years professional experience in technical writing tools in addition to experience in Microsoft Word and Visio.
- 5+ years professional experience in content writing for ERP with a good grasp of ERP terminology.
- 3+ years in Agile development.
Additional Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Degree in English and Swedish, Professional writing or equivalent.
- Ability to write in a simple, concise and accurate manner.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Documentation Development Life Cycle
- Appreciation for and basic understanding of ERP, MRP, Financials, Distribution, and Field Service disciplines.
- Understanding software concepts and ability to grasp new products and technologies.
- Ability to reconcile business requirement specifications with system capabilities to produce pedagogic documentation. • Excellent work ethic and initiative. Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to deliver high value documentation in a team environment.
